LIFE RULES

In my over 30 years of living, there are some things and lessons i have learnt that remain constant. I am going to itemize them here. I hope they are helpful:

1. Talk is cheap - What people say is far different from what they can or would do.                                                                                                         
2. The truth is bitter - People ask for the truth but they secretly want a lie or at least a sugar coated version of the truth (except when it's convenient).                                                                                             
3. History repeats itself - There is nothing new under the sun. If it has happened before it would happen again, it's just a question of time.                       
4. People don't change - It is very very difficult for people to change their character.                                                                                                         
5. Face your fears -  Do what you fear and the fear would gradually go away  
6. Always ask WHY - Question your actions, ideas, people's opinions and motives. This way you live the life you really want (with fewer regrets) rather than the life someone else wants for you.                                                
7. kiss Ass - To get ahead you need experience, to get experience you need good opportunities, to get opportunity you need to be driven, humble and enduring enough to be given a chance by those ahead of you.                              
8. Take Responsibility - People would blame everybody, anybody, except themselves for misfortunes. Take responsibility for your life and life would be less stressful.                                                                                                
9. The violent take it by Force -  If you really want something, you must be willing to fight for it. Nothing worthwhile comes easy.                                         
10. The apple does not fall too far from the tree - We are influenced by our environment, our friends, and our thoughts. So be aware of your influences (especially your thoughts). If you want to change, get new influences.                                                                                               
11. Business is EVIL - It is very difficult to do business and amass wealth without a shady (unethical) deal or two. Don't mind what they say.              
12. Bridle your tongue - Say less than you know. Speak less, listen more. Never speak ill of a person when they are not around ("Don't criticize a king, and don't criticize the rich, even in the privacy of your bedroom. A bird might carry the message and tell them what you said." Eccl 10:20). Everybody hates a gossip, even the person being gossiped to would hate him eventually.
13. Invest in your Mind/Spirit - It is the only thing that separates us from animals                                                                                                  
14. Gender Equality doesn't Make Sense - Males are different from females physically, mentally and psychologically. It is foolhardy to balance them on a scale, rather it is better to say they compliment each other.
